Spinoff writing

Treat the projected parent canon as authority and the new Work as a separate artifact lineage.
Choose a real side-story dramatic question: an unseen interval, another character's consequential viewpoint, a prehistory, aftermath, or bounded what-if authorized by the user.
Give the side story its own opening pressure, change, and ending. It may illuminate the parent work but must not silently advance, erase, or rewrite the parent mainline state.
Reuse established characters, rules, and relationships precisely; add only what the side story needs.
Mark new side-story inventions as additions, not established parent history. If the author withdraws an invented past rule, remove its dependent plot promises while preserving the parent facts and give the scene pressure through the current characters' choices.
Preserve unresolved parent questions unless the user explicitly makes their answer the purpose of the spinoff.
