A micro-frontend (MFE) is a small frontend codebase that represents one or more pages of a web experience that can be independently managed and deployed by a small, autonomous team. Argonaut, which is REA’s micro-frontend platform, slices a website vertically into MFEs, meaning that each page/pages the user sees on the browser is an MFE owned by a single team. These teams are purely responsible for developing the core features of the MFE, while the Argonaut runtime, which serves as an app shell for all the MFEs.
